Just read through your thread! Wow, very nice. That 80 gallon really turn out beautiful. I love LPS, especially euphillia. I will enjoy seeing what you do with the bigger tank.
I have had good luck with Gulf Coast Ecosystem's for macros. They have different stuff different times of the year.

Thanks for stopping in! Yeah I have been watching the website weekly. When I set up the 180 I will have a 60g breeder set up as a macro garden/display fuge kind of next to it. I have some time off coming up that I will move the 180g and use self leveling cement to level the floor. At that point I will need to plumb it and make the decision on what I am lighting it with. Love the Reefi but the ones that @14 foot reef is using on his frag tanks are very interesting (forgot the name of them at the moment just got up lol).

Up and running!
I love how these just work. Hooked it up turned it on next morning it was producing dirty foam. I am sure I don't have the bioload to make this work as well as it could but it will be better than the old one. And better sized when I get the 180 up.

So I have been battling some bubble algae in here. I tried adding some emerald crabs a few months ago. I dont like crabs in my reef tanks but against my better judgment I tried them. You know what? they didnt do anything for the bubble algae. I was still having to resort to weekly manual removal. I would watch them picking at the rocks all around the bubble algae there was an irresistible invisible algae they couldnt get enough of. Then one day I noticed one of my acans was very unhappy. I watched after lights out and sure enough those little jerks were out in force tearing the acan polyps to shreds. I was able to catch 2 of the 4 and send them to the fuge. Other 2 are still there but so far are leaving what is left of my acans alone. Fast forward to 3 weeks ago I got some pitho crabs yes again with the crabs against my better judgment. These guys do work! I have not had to manually remove any bubble algae since adding them. There is still some but I am leaving it for them to find as it is about the only algae in the tank. I did have a small bit of a redish algae showing up on one rock that it didnt seem anyone wanted to address. Manual removal seems to be working for that.

As a side note the video I posted last wasnt as bad as I had though. I watched it at work and it actually looks pretty close to what I see a little bluer and darker but pretty close. Must be my home monitor and phone.

Oh I forgot to add the reason for the last post. I saw one of the pithos sitting in the same spot on a rock for most of the day. I thought that was weird so I reached in to give it a bump, it didnt react, I though great couple weeks and its dead. Nope was a molt. I couldnt tell how it actually got out it looked completely intact. I have seen hermit crab, emerald crab, and shrimp molts they are typically easy to tell that is what it is. Then again yesterday another one. Last night all of them were still accounted for and after a couple hrs the molts had broken up a bit.

Love all the new torches! Are you planning on getting a bigger tank anytime soon or just going to stick with what you have for now?
There is a 180g about 5' to the right of that tank. Slow but sure. Debating sump atm. Lights sitting on work bench, rock structures sitting on work bench, 8 boxes of sand sitting on the floor. Also installed the reefeco coral wall. Leveled the floor over the summer that was one of the biggest set backs for setting the 180 up in the first place. If I would have just decided to go the route I have decided on now with the sump the tank would already be up and running. I was shooting for end of the year 2024. I am not rushing it though. I have time.

Can't rush perfection! That's exciting! I can't wait to see how it turns out. Do you already have your scape worked out?

Yup made 5 structures the same way I did this tank. I am not 100% happy with one of them but there is a vision. I hope the vision works out cause that rock structure looks goofy if not.

I'm sure it'll look great regardless. Congrats!
