Blue squishy coat on part of my trochus snail shell?

So I noticed this blue squishy substance attached to the bottom half of my snail’s shell. The top is covered in coraline algae. After researching for quite a bit, I am now convinced that it may be some sort of blue sponge.. maybe a plated blue sponge ? Anyone have a clue?

Any pictures under white light? Blue light washes out a lot of detail and makes ID'ing things tough.

That said, from what I can see it does look and sound like a sponge, so it's probably safe.

Thank you, and yes when I get back home I’ll turn up the white lights a bit to capture a more accurate photo of the substance

As mentioned above, it has a weird, smooth, and squishy feel to it .

Yeah, that's most likely a sponge, and most likely harmless.
