thin mil on the bags?
butterfly spines poking through ?
Negative to both questions, though I did not inspect the bags closely during the rush to save the fish... and neither case seems possible with the puffer fish bag, especially after how soft and slippery it felt while I gently transferred it to the QT after acclimation.

Upon recheck, all bags have no visible holes (other than my opening slashes, of course) and seem to be typical bag mil.

The instigating fish for this order was a medium Klein's butterflyfish for a friend to try to eliminate aiptasia (knowing the inherent risk with any butterflyfish in a reef tank!), and, of course, that was the fish that seemed to be in the worst condition when they arrived. Whether it actually helps or not, I "dip" my fish for about 15 minutes in a small holding container with HydroPlex after acclimation but before adding them to my QT. So far, I have never had troubles with this and all fish have acclimated well through even the 1/2-gallon container with HydroPlex.
Not today, though, as the Kleini gave me a scare when it went completely stiff on the bottom of the container after about 10 minutes, which prompted me to cut the time a bit shorter and add the fish to the QT immediately. It took a couple minutes for the Kleini to recover in the QT... from past experience with weird deaths of butterflyfish, this had me very concerned and I am quite happy that it seems to be healthy and back to normal now.

Looking forward to more pictures of your pony tank as it progresses! It looks to be a wonderful start so far.
If the kleini doesn't work, look for a stripey. Only fish I've had that successfully eradicated without cause other problems.

Rhino, pipe, and one pony all sharing the same gorg.

3 of the 4 are visible in this photo, the 4th is to the right a little more.

Interesting, do you have a species name for the stripey? What is the typical price range?

I got about 20 lightbulb anemones on my Gulf live rock a few years ago. One transferred with the live rock pieces to my work desk 40B and is now about 5cm across the disc. It has not yet reproduced and I find it quite interesting.
The rest were lost when my live rock tank crashed when it leaked and I had to move the rocks to my other QTs that had been previously medicated. Now it is almost completely devoid of life... live and learn, I'll be ordering more live rock when I get my main living room system set up and running.

That is the species I thought, and price seems lower than the cost reference in my head. I'll see if the Kleini works for the other guy and keep this for reference.
