I agree with this.

In all seriousness @CC24KCORALCRUZE your attitude alone says a lot. A "Proper Seller" would have handled things in a whole different manner. Even if called out or disrespected. Your post is just not the way to handle things and has that "holier than thou" vibe to it. Not to mention that you fail to realize that while the torch looks like that in your tank, it may not look like that in someone elses. I also find it funny, from the way I read your post, that if XXXXX buys your torch grows it out, sells it that it will will not look just the same as yours. That is just plain nuts. Heck I could buy your torch, throw it under my MH/T5 lighting and shove it in a ton of flow or throw it under my hydra tank in now flow, I bet it looks different. I could also buy it grow it out, find the sweet spot and make it look exactly like yours.

My suggestion, keep doing what you do, and love your "special torch".

Also, maybe you should be like Ferrari and create a legally binding contract for when someone purchases one. Or do credit checks, background checks, and tank inspections before selling one lol.

That’s why when you buy from trusted reefers such as 1st class aquarium , the product speaks for its self.

That was my biggest point. While I do not get into all of the lineage stuff, since I am mostly a nem guy, I have had to deal with it with nems. Just not like other have to deal with it with torches and acros. With that said, one can grow something from "the first grower" it look exactly the asme by the second grower, but due to shiping stress, different lights or whatever not look the same in the third persons tank.

I actually find that part of the hobby fun. I buy brown turd acros and get to what they turn into or random just imported torches and see what they turn into. Then give to fellow local reefers and see what it turns into in their tank.

You buy, I'll fly and deliver.
That would be the funniest R2R express ever. @Lost in the Sauce flys to pick up the 2 heads, then flys to Nashville to drop mine off, then flies back To LA with his.

I would do that if you carried them in a brief case handcuffed to your arm and documented it via a live stream or something lol.

I mean, we have moved everything from puppies to steve-a-pora to earls to zoas lol.

I still can’t fathom paying that much money for any coral or fish. Here in Indiana the market for fragging and selling to recoup that cost just isn’t there! Not to mention to fact heaven forbid something that expensive melt away, not to mention the financial loss in the divorce settlement when the wife finds out how much I spent!

Saying that only a frag from the original mother holds the genotype is just flat out wrong according to science. The phenotype may change from tank to tank but it would change whether the frag came from CC or any other piece with the same genotype. Genetics don't change by fragging.

i have actually heard of genetics drifting slowly from the mother as a result of cloning clones over and over after many years. This was specifically with a certain plant though. but it may be possible that corals genetics could drift too. I’m not expert so I could be way wrong lol.

my guess for the coral differences are probably mainly from living and adapting in a different environment though.

That’s plants which are very different from corals which are actually marine animals and not terrestrial plants
