I have a CO2 scrubber however the media will last about a month. I got round to thinking perhaps the media would last longer if I could have a CO2 scrubber with a hose connected to it and fed outside where hopefully there would be less CO2 than in my living room. My current CO2 scrubber draws air from beneath with multiple holes to draw the air in so I couldn't realistically convert it esp as it is cylindrical.

I am in the UK but you should have little problem finding the parts in your own country (R2R is global right)
What I needed was a container with an airtight lid that I could drill easily enough and about 2 litres in capacity.
I found such in the Range costing £3.99p. 2 threaded PVC connectors with hosetails, 3/8" threaded end X 10mm hosetail with one straight and one elbow at a cost of £2.30p each delivered from the bay.

I had some scrap eggcrate and 7point stiffish nylon screen which I glued on top of the stand, this is to prevent the CO2 media from falling through to the bottom. The I made a little stand to fit into the container after drilling 2 holes, one in the top and other in the side low down and under the internal stand. I screwed both fittings into place after adding a bead of hot glue at the base of the thread before I screwed them in. I found a 5/8" bit ideal to drill the holes and then simply screw the connectors in no need to cut a thread in the container. A short length of 10mm silicone tube will be attached to the top outlet hosetail with the other end attached to the air intake of m Nos 160 silencer.
I purchased a length of 10mm white (available in different colours) off the bay. I will buy some soda lime used to soak up CO2 from a dive store suppliers I found online. This I intend to lead through m living room window and add a filter to prevent creepy crawlies from getting in.
It would be just as easy to make a similar scrubber without the hose attachment at the bottom and simply drill holes around the bottom below the internal media support should you not want to have a tube to the outside.

Without CO2 media and pipe to the outside, the scrubber has cost me just £8-59p.
