Can’t budge the calcium on this middle brace.
I tried:
- vinegar 9%, soaking for 15 min to 1 hour cover with Ceran-wrap since it’s underneath. Scrubbing, using razorblade
- Aceton, same methods
- Barkeepers Friend, same methods
- Goo Gone, same methods
- Lime Away, same methods

Nothing seems to work. Not even a small amount better.

Any other suggestions/solutions?

Could just be etched in the glass. Hmmm... Can you "feel" it? Is it raised or lower than the glass itself?

I bought the tank used. It is a Oceanic from 2005. Has seen a lot of saltwater evaporating.

Ok, I tried everything. Last resort was muriatic acid. Didn’t move anything.
A local Glas shop told me to give up and replace.
That opens a complete new can of worms. I’ll start a new thread for that question.
Thank you all for your advice.

Try laying a towel over it and soaking it with white vinegar. Keep it on there for a day or 2 while making sure to keep the towel wet with vinegar the whole time. I have had success with this method in the past. Good luck!
