I just did my second dose of PraziPro today and my tang has been twitching his head more than before which I understand is a good thing. He’s also flashing here and there. My Midas Blenny has been flashing like crazy for the last hour. He has also been swimming into the power head.

Prior to this round of prazi, the Blenny would swim into the powerhead, and occasionally flash. The tang would swim into the powerhead, occasionally flash and twitch his head.

The tang has had white spots come and go for about a month. I have a UV, but turned it off when I started the first round of Prazi on the 30th. No other fish have white spots.

I know sometimes velvet can be in the gills and not show on the body. So my question is would my fish act the way they are because of the second dose or prazi or should I be more worried?

You are describing some signs of velvet and some of flukes but most point to velvet. A video under white light intensity will be helpful with assessment. With velvet some signs are fish will scratch body against hard objects, lethargic behavior, Loss of appetite and weight loss, Rapid, labored breathing, Fins clamped against the body, and typically stay at the surface of the water, or remain in a position where a steady flow of water is present in the aquarium.
With flukes, rapid breathing, fish acting lethargic or swimming near the water surface, hiding in the corner of tank or behind rocks, loss of appetite, shaking its head, flashing/darting, develop clamped fins, , or scratching against objects. They may also exhibit what looks like yawning from gill irritation develop, cloudy eyes and loss of color.

The Blenny and tang have yawned a few times. The last few hours, the Blenny has been in his rock and comes out to either flash/go into powerhead or for food. My Bella goby didn’t come out until about an hour ago from his den. All fish are eating well and none at the top of the water. I did notice the goby do that about two weeks ago, but never since. I can try to get a video when I get home later. It’s just odd because I’ve had velvet in another tank years ago and it killed everything within days and all fish got the powder look.

This is where video will help. Add oxygen with air stone

Sound more like flukes to me. Velvet you need to look more at the respiration rates. Velvet also kills very fast so I would assume you would have experienced some mortality at this point.

Are the fish breathing fast? anything exceeding 90-100 + bpm is a concern. You can count the gills for 10 seconds x 6 to get the rate per minute.

To answer question, yes its normal for the flashing, yawning and symptoms to play out after dosing the medication especially if the fish had a bad infection.

Was this video taken after the prazi treatment?

The spots on the tang are too big for velvet, could be mucus plugs. You may be with multiple things here, possibly ich and flukes.

The video IMO did not exhibit the typical behavior of swimming into powerhead like you would see with velvet.

At facial area, the whitetail is showing signs of ich. The others appear to be normal.
