Some serious research and development went into it
Need to etch your name on the fork, that’ll raise the price of it

As someone that creates and makes things i can say a lot goes into making stuff like this. i speak for my self, i spend hours just coming up with a design from an idea which i then have to make a reality. If you dont feel like its worth it then i think and say design and make your own items, but remember you need design software and equipment to make it. Tooling isnt free i spent 15k on my laser alone none of that stuff is free and all of that including machinery wear and tear and materials has a cost for us that manufacture. In the case of flipper im sure they are not a 1 man operation working out of a garage like me , which also adds to the overhead cost and they have salaries to pay.

You are buying the brand name. That’s why a lot of merch has a MAP price. Kinda like sports cars, it’s all in what you value and what you’ll pay.
It's like clothing as well. A shirt that's $50 can be just as comfortable as a $10 shirt

Yup. The company can sell high volume at a lower price, or convince the public they are a “premium” brand and sell less product at a higher price.

OK, but the $50 shirt is WAY MORE stylish, and you look SO MUCH better in the $50 shirt. I mean, hands down it's the $50 shirt, all day long!

I have A LOT of the old Mag-Float magnetic scrapers, I think these were really the "first" of the magnetic type scrapers. As I mentioned, I have quite the collection of these from many years of fishkeeping. I look at the prices of the newer magnetic scrapers and holy cats lol! But, my old Mag-Float's simply don't work well, and everyone seems to rave about that really expensive one at the beginning of this thread...... I mean, what can you do? Sometimes you just have to give them what they want for the product that works best. Welcome to the USA!
