Sweet build - congrats! I love the clean look of your lighting fixture!

What about flow coming back from the opposite end of the wall? You're planning to stick a Gyre (or two) to push water back?
Thanks for following along! The lighting rack turned out great. I was able to run the cords so they are hidden and then used the coil to hide the 8 cords

I’m torn about the flow at the front panel just like every other peninsula owner. I bought 4 mp60s for the tank hoping to use them all on the far wall hidden away. I haven’t had the opportunity to set all four up yet but am running two at the moment. The reality, I will probably break down and either put 1 of the mp60 or a gyre But for now it’s not needed

Got my clean up crew today. I think one of the emeralds didn’t make it. Otherwise they are going to work on all the live rock.

In other news. I haven’t fixed the leak in the overflow yet maybe tomorrow. It’s probably dripped about 1/4 cup in 24 hrs

I installed my doors for the stand but forgot to take pics. Will update tomorrow

Also installed my ATO from Neptune and is operational. Unfortunately when the water does start to flow it sprays everywhere. I’m using some filter floss to catch it. Not sure what could be wrong

I’ve done this on the 8ft tank — even the XF350 (great gyre btw) can only push 5-6ft of the water back at 90%. Sorry, not scientific but just visual cues in my part. Four MP60s on one end won’t make it, unless you’re planning to place low-flow LPS/softies on the end of the peninsula.

I understand why you’re reluctant since you’ll have wires on the high-traffic side of the reef. Another option is a Panta Rhei ECM63? My buddy has one and it can move water across the room!

CUC - how many did you add? I’ve added $300 worth of various snails and they totally disappeared into the rock work (or got killed). No clue - lol

Total Reef Care # 1 includes: 100 Authentic Small Blueleg Hermits, 6 Emerald Crabs, 100 Turbo (astrea) Snails, 36 Cerith Snails and 18 Nerite Snails. This package will take care of a variety of reef algae problems including Green, Red Slime, Bubble and filamentous Hair Algae for a 260 count of great cleaners.

Plus 5 emeralds and 5 peppermints. Then another 50 mix of snakes and crabs from my cube. So over 300+ critters

The good news, the tank is green and has a while to fill in. I will probably have to add a gyre at the end at some point but I probably have a year. My plan is to make a softy lps garden at the end.

I still only have two mp60 going but I finally moved they at the top so they are reaching about 3/4 across now. Running reef crest and nutrient export. One of my mp60 is defective as the impeller hits the cage so I need to replace.

Another update tonight, the tank is trucking along and is probably ready to go. I will test tomorrow but may make the transfer this weekend.

I attempted to fix the bulkhead leak again with no luck :crying-face: I will try again this weekend.

This ultra reef skimmer is a beast

Did you put silicone grease on the gasket for the bulkhead? Not sure if you can get to it to add but that should stop the leaking since the only place it can be coming from is the deal between t he bulkhead flange and the inside of the tank. The only other potential spot is if the pvc going into the bulkhead is where the leak is. Depending on if it is threaded in or glued that can be a much bigger issue to solve

I did not put silicone grease on the gasket before threading it. I don’t think it’s from the pvs itself, I think it’s coming from the threading or not getting a good seal from the gasket.

If you are able to get some grease on both sides of the gasket that may solve the issue. You don’t have to take it apart you can apply it with a brush and then the action of tightening it will spread it out. Something to watch is that you don’t over tighten it as that will link the gasket and potentially cause a leak especially with no grease

i will try and get some grease. Hopefully ace has it. I do have a feeling im over tightening it. It’s hard to say. The other drain has no issues but it’s the emergency drain. The two return lines are also good from the beginning

I really appreciate the suggestion and support!
