Hey y'all! I recently upgraded to a larger Red Sea, and have my old setup for sale. This tank has been well cared for and will provide many years of enjoyment to its next owner.
The tank is a Red Sea Reefer 170 (first gen). All equipment is extremely clean. The tank seams are in good condition. The dreaded Red Sea seam failures don't tend to affect the smaller tanks (less force exerted on the glass, and tank stand is appropriately sized/braced unlike the larger first gen Red Seas). The glass has some minor scratching, mostly on the left side (as shown). Stand has some minor wear/scuffing in a couple spots, commensurate with its age.
The plumbing has been converted from metric to standard PVC using the Red Sea plumbing conversion kit. Last week I installed new stainless steel soft-close hinges for the cabinet door, as well.
The package includes the following:
Red Sea Reefer 170 Tank
Red Sea Stand (White)
Fiji Cube Fiji-20 Advanced Reef Sump (Gen 2)
Kessil A360W-E Tuna Blue LED (90W Matrix)
Kessil Mount
Kessil LED Controller
Simplicity 240DC Skimmer with DC Pump and Controller
Things to note:
- The original Red Sea sump failed and was replaced with a new Fiji Cube 20 Gen 2. The original owner had a heater fail in the Red Sea sump which caused the sump seam to fail from heat, and melted a small portion of the foam mat under the sump. The new sump mostly covers/hides this.
- The new sump is *much* nicer than the original Red Sea one. Its also acrylic rather than glass, with a larger total volume, and more room for equipment.
- The base of the sump as a small chip (close up photos below) that do not impact its structural integrity.
- The tank is currently filled with RO to demonstrate that all systems are fully operational and leak-free.
Located in SE VT
Local pickup preferred but I am willing to provide free delivery up to~100 miles (into New Hampshire, Northern MA, Upstate NY, etc)
