mine is a 125, like I said, it disappeared for almost 30 days, popped up, was swimming around for about a week pecking at rocks and whatnot, even up in the column - next thing I knew, boom, gone.

Ok so this is 4 tsp. To raise 1 dkh. So each 1 tsp should yield a .25 dkh increase

So confirm current dkh
Add 2 tsp baking soda mixed with rodi until it’s completely dissolved. Pour the solution in the sump. Retest in 2-3 hours and dkh should now be approx .5higher


Then repeat a few hours later and you’ll be at, or near 8.5

I’ve added 3tsp at once several times on my tanks history with no bad effect, and I’m 80 gallons of volume.

So my friend said shipping on a “transshipped”box of coral run $3-400. Each box contains an average of 15 corals. That’s $20-27 shipping per a coral. I’ve seen price list for transshipments. Banana torch 7 heads $200. So with the way they price things ….yeah mark up is insane . But without knowing overhead cost for each business it’s hard to judge what their actual ROI is . I had my LFS tell me that the reason they don’t stock many dry goods is because markup is much lower and it’s a less profitable venture

yeah agree it isn’t the lfs fault. The fish/coral goes thru some hands before. One thing it did for me is wiped my eyes clear on some of how this hobby works. I no longer reef under the guise of an environmentalist. lol

Okay @VintageReefer turning my doser off, making the baking soda solution. Todays reading 7.6DKH, so as we had discussed to raise it 1.0 you recommended 4 tsp, curious to know, wouldnt that raise the DKH by approxiamtely 2.0? I assumed that we're putting in additional to compensate for the DKH consumed by the tank in the day?
