Show off!!!! I don’t blame you! Beautiful!
I must say after a long break this is the most successful tank I’ve ever had! It’s barely 18 months old and everything was grown out from 1” frags! It’s filling in nicely and fast!

Do me a favor. Sum up in a paragraph why you think your tank is so successful this go around?

Ummm yeah lol… I planted stuff about 4” apart and already regretting it! I’ve been cutting stuff and breaking stuff as I clean the glass! I tried to sell frags for $5 that are 6” long and no takers lol… everyone scared of sticks.. I tried to sell this entire rack and the 2 large Stella’s for $20 and nothing  Never had a tank grow this fast..

Metal halides! Oh wait, you wanted a paragraph haha! Just kidding! Great question ummmm… well let’s see I’m much older now so I have more patience for one, never owned a controller and now have a apex and trident that tests daily so my alk is more consistent.. besides that I stuck to the basics and what I know from back then and still use it today! Good flow, good lighting and carbon dosing! The only new addition is following @SunnyX footsteps and being bacteria driven with dosing mb7 and zeobak a couple times a week. I believe that’s the ticket although most people say it’s snake oil and we don’t need to dose bacteria.. I beg to differ because I see the feeding response in my acros here’s proof! Never seen this nor tried it till this tank.

That’s great stuff right there! Hobbyists need to hear this stuff and see the results like you have!

Changed 100 gallons of water and put the last of my brand new phoneix 14k metal halides in! Ready to kick some butt in the grow outs I’m entered in! Also took the opportunity for a couple top downs.

I just tried it a whole bunch of rock that woulda helped you.
It’s crazy man! I have fought showing any phosphates since I started this tank! I found an old bottle of neophos and started dosing that yesterday to try and bring them up! On top of the reef roids lol.

Dejavu!!! ! New high score! Beat my personal best ph of 9.2 like what 2 months ago? Stupid optical sensor stuck my top off on with 25 gallons of fresh kalk! Maybe this is my secret sauce! Haha… no casualties again and that top off is in the trash! Put a tunze on it cause I don’t think I’ll have this luck ever again! No floods in the house this time so momma was happy lol..

Loving the tank! You are extremely lucky with that accidental OD. I dosed kalk back in the day and can upset the tank for a week or more from an accidental OD. Would you say your halides with the phoenix bulbs (that's a name I haven't heard in a while) is key to your growth or the bacteria dosing?

I’d say both honestly! My buddy runs his tank like mine and my growth is better than his. He has reefi uno pros over his tank and has better colors thou! Tank never seems to skip a beat after a kalk over dose lol.. lucky I guess! I might switch to led’s some day but I like what I got and need to grow this tank in then worry about colors lol.. all part of the game!

Right. My sps grew faster using metal halides and phoenix DE bulbs, but in my experience (over 20 years) Leds when dialed in seems to give better color.

Yeah for sure! The new Ati stranton pro knock offs look very tempting to me and the price is right! lol.. I just might pull the trigger on them if I decide to go led.
