Why are some of the most beautiful tank inhabitants also some of the most difficult to keep happy? Some reef members constantly keep us on our toes, whether it be a factor of environment, temperament, or compatibility. But have you been up for the challenge?

I would love to try some harder to keep corals, but I don't trust myself with them yet

I kept a red rooster Pygmy waspfish for a couple months. Initially, it went well, but as time went on, he became more and more fussy with foods, and eventually disappeared.

would love a species only tank like wasp/scorpion fish, angler/frogfish, garden eels, etc. but the care level is a bit off-putting.

for invert/coral i definitely have taken on some challenges with the more "designer" inverts/corals. lost some, and even kept some from dying.

My tank doesn’t like torches. Lost a $100 indo gold head.

Have a frag of strats and so far so good.

I have kept both a powder blue tang and wild caught Red Sea Angel fish. Both were very healthy and fat. I’m looking forward to having another Regal in the new tank I’m upgrading to. This time it will be a tank bred one.

Definitely yes and no. I’ve lost some expensive torches when I was newer in the hobby and expensive fish to disease. I’m now currently successful with some tenuis as well as a moorish idol

This hobby is all about proper education and persistence.
