I really, really want a coral beauty but also like my coral, i have watched as many yt vids as there are about them and mist people say theirs are good as gold, but i have an lps heavy tank although it currently doesn’t even have much coral (will send a pic) my main concern is the trachyphyllia, any one who has had the pleasure of owning these beauties let me know about your experiences. My other corals are softies and i have 1 chalice and 1 favia as well as a pavona

Also what are your experiences with hawkfish and shrimp, could i get a juvenile flame hawk seeming as my shrimps are huge like 2-3 inches and i have them as a breeding pair, would the hawk still try and eat them?

Hi. I can only tell you what happens in my tank.
I have a flame hawk, a skunk cleaner and a blood shrimp. Flame hawk shows no interest in them.
I have a pair of coral beauties (matched pair) and a lot of euphyllia, acans, blastos, zoas etc. Fish do not touch them yet. I had this situation for about 3 months.
Hope that helps.

low probability of coral beauty destroying your corals as long as you keep it well fed. I have had one in my display for over a year and it hasn't batted an eye at any LPS or zoas. Can't speak to hawkfish and shrimp, never had a hawk.

Interesting, i was under the assumption that they can be fine for ages but they randomly start eating coral, but from what you said that doesn’t seem to be the case, i use an auto feeder so do you think it will stay well fed?

I'm sure some Angel experts will be along shortly, but my experience hasn't been good. I have a Singapore Angel, which is also 'reef safe with caution'. She killed my LPS. I didn't have many, but she wouldn't leave them alone. I'm not sure she was actually eating them, but they clearly weren't happy.
I've hear that the more LPS corals you have, the better their chances, as the 'nipping' is distributed across a large number of corals, rather than the fish concentrating on just a few (in my case, three).
Probably doesn't help you much, right?

Every fish is different, and maybe I've had good luck, but I feed a varied diet of flake, frozen and nori. I have also had good luck with flame angels behaving in the past. From my novice research, lemon peels seem to be the most likely dwarf angels to bother corals.

The chances are there are chances. My flame angel got a taste about a year after I got her. Ate my acan, hydnophora, and my alvepora like spaghetti. Others didn't fully open until she was gone.

Feeding as stated before is the key. Mine wouldn't eat sponge or nori. Took it out on my corals.

Was fun to watch while I had her.

A coral beauty could be different...could be.

If it were my tank full of expensive corals I would not take the chance.

A year isn’t ages, it’s just the amount of time needed for a reefer to relax before the fish lets loose and eats everything overnight.

Will that happen? Every fish has its own disposition and lifetime direction that isn’t necessarily the same as there brothers, sisters, and cousins will demonstrate.

Not to argue politics, but recent years of political ebbs and flows among people demonstrate similar unpredictability in our own populations.

Anecdotal information may or may not be your actual experience if you try a coral beauty.

Chances are not the same as statistics. These questions are always either zero or one probabilities, win or lose outcomes.

If you win for a year or ten and then the fish changes eating habits odds go from winning to losing when the situation changes.

I had to try Flame Angeles a few times over the years but the last time I tore the tank apart to remove the fish was the last time I have had one. 1:0.
