Well we stopped to drop off the kids with family and got stuck there for a while out of guilt because they planned a birthday celebration for his mom(birthday was yesterday) and didn't tell us but expected us to stay... so we ate lunch and cake with them and left as soon as we could... on our way to the tank now (about 30min away), and can't believe what a late start we're getting.
Family! SMH :/

I will take pics to document the process as much as possible but probably won't update again until we're on our way home... if I'm not to tired to type. Lol

Thanks guys!

We got home at 3:02am! It is now 6:17 and I am finally finished with everything I have to do tonight, and I can't wait to hit the rack! Everything went really well but the tank is still in the truck so we're only 2/3 finished. I'll update more tomorrow!

I know I am late to the party but... I have a very large sump and I keep it in the garage with all the plumbing going to it from all my tanks.. anyway I built a base or stand for it and I mounted wheels underneath but I made sure and put some stops on the sides so the tank cant roll to the side. (They dont touch the floor but they are almost touching the floor so when I move it they could prevent a rollover)
I keep the garage pretty tidy and move the sump every couple of months just to clean behind and underneath it... being that it is top heavy and I move it full all the time I added the extra stops or feet whatever you want to call them and I am sure it has saved me many times from a spill. just something to think about for next time or for a future project.

Thanks jawbone. But I'm not really sure what you mean. Could you post some pics?

Last night we did have to unload the stand, sump, refugium tank, and 3 coolers full of live rock, corals, and WATER! That was the worst! Heavy as hell!!!!!

We're super exhausted and sore and we still have to unload everything today which we're going to get started right now...

But first, PICS!!!!!

First pic taken. We had already done a lot of work at this point but forgot to get the camera out till now. All live rock and corals had already been taken out save placed in coolers at this point and the second pic shows the 3 coolers already full in the truck bed.

Had to slide it out from the wall a bit to be able to line it up with the tank mover properly. 240g, 55g sump, and stand were heavy!

Slightly too tall with the casters on so we raised the cart with a floor jack and removed the front two wheels temporarily.

I just realized there's no pictures of us using the winch to pull the tank onto the cart... the girl taking the pics videoed the entire time but I don't know how to post videos.
Next pic is us rolling it out of the door.

We used a couple old pieces of indoor outdoor carpet to help slide it over the foam sheet like PilotWolf suggested

Tank was at the right level height to slide right onto the tailgate but the top layer of 2x4's was made to come off the cart and stay with the tank as it goes in the truck for added protection and the cart needed to be raised a little to be able clear the tailgate with the top part so we used the floor jack again.

Our photographer went on break, meanwhile we removed 2 of the vertical braces so we could remove the sump from the stand, carried out the stand, 55g sump, and 20-30ish refugium full of miracle mud, some water, and a boat load of chaeto, and loaded it all in the truck.

Thank you isoprene! I can hardly wait as well! We have a lot to do before we can set it up. We have to modify the stand a lot! We're gonna sand it down, stain it darker, fancy it up a bit to go with my living room, and raise the height to make it about 8" taller. Then do the canopy to match as well. Also need to move the baffles in the sump so my beast of a skimmer will fit in it,and lots of other stuff to do, too! The hubby has already started sawing wood and working on the stand :-D

Thanks guys. I have about 30g of SW mixed up but that's of no concern right now because it's gonna be a while before we're ready to get this tank wet. We're going to be doing a lot of modifications to the stand as explained in post #37. For now, we have all the rock in 2 large coolers with heater and power head and the water that was in the tank with them before the breakdown. I put the corals in my 70g except for the softies and montis that I couldn't get off of the very large rocks they are on. So for now they are just in the cooler with the other rock and I think I might set up a temporary 30g or something to keep the rocks with corals in or maybe even a 60g that I could put all the rock together in till we get the big boy set up. It's gonna be a while though cuz my husband is gonna be outta town for work a lot in the next 2 weeks.
