I'm after a replacement for my McCoskers. He didn't make it through QT and I have no idea why it died. My linespot looks like it's about to follow. I've heard prazi pro can be hard on wrasses
I would stop using Prazi and switch to API General Cure. Broader spectrum medication with Prazi in a gentler form and Metronidazole as well. I’ve had great luck QTing wrasses with that and Copper Power.

Any reef safe wrasse suggestions for a 75g that won't eat my shrimp or feather dusters? I'm looking at getting a Sea Cucumber and Clam as well.
I have a six line that so far at least, is a model citizen. But they can be hit or miss. I did read, and went along with the idea that they should be the last fish you add because they can be very territorial. But mine is a great little fish.

I love my Melanarus Wrasse. Zero issues with yellow cucumber ( it actually split into two). Zero issues with the Fire shrimp or snails. I make sure they are fed properly. Simply beautiful.

The melanarus is about just as nasty as the timor and earmuff in taking your your CUC crew from what i hear.

So its a pick between the melanarus vs timor vs earmuff as i heard they all grow up to simular sizes and have a nasty taste for hermit crabs.

But its fine... I don't really like hermits... i just get them when i need a filler on my reef cleaners order, and i try to restock on snails every 4-6 months. And if its a healthy snack for the wrassee, then so be it.

Oh but if you do add a Halichores, if you ever get aptasia... you can never use Berghia, unless you want to feed your wrasse a A4 grade flatworm wagyu.
I have zero issues with melanarus

Sorry to hear. Wrasses are difficult to quarantine and do not take well to meds. I personally started buying prequarantined or just observing separately. Here’s a chart that helped me with fairy wrasses. My orange back has become one of my favorites. I have 4 wrasses currently. Halichoeres genus tend to go after snails and hermits in my experience.

Great figure. Too bad it doesn't also include info on coral and invertebrate compatibility. (never satisfied)

Nah... the blue star is just OMG when you see it at the right angle.

Suposidely... and they are known to also disappear on you days at a time if you cheat on it with a damsel or something.
That has to be about the second most beautiful fish I've ever seen.

That chart is just for fairy wrasses and their mixing compatibility with other fairy wrasses. I’d say fairy wrasses are 99.99% reef and invert safe. Mostly eat zooplankton in the wild

I had a blue head for years. Great personality and I enjoyed watching him but they will eat every bit of your clean up crew.

I am not into rare wrasses, just beautiful wrasses. The best bang for the bucks are these:

These are not the easiest wrasse in the world to keep, but once they are acclimated, they are bullet proof.
Black Leopard, Macropharyngodon negrosensis

Easier wrasses that are the absolute best bang for the buck:

Meleagris Leopard. Fairly common but exceptionally beautiful. Not the easiest wrasse to acclimated. Other than a few wrasses I posted here, there got to be many wrasses that you can keep in your tank. Just have to search and read about them.
