Get Mr Salt Waters QT book. I have had a tank for years and got it last year for the heck of it. It is great. I changed my QT methods.

Yesterday i came back very late and found that the fish are doing great. Hippo is eating and almost no more spots. The copper is kept at .5. Thanks to your advices i have been able to accomplish the very first steps quarantine process. I would like to acknowledge you all helping!

Now, i have prazipro to dose when should i start this?

How long should i keep the fish in 0.5mg of copper? Should i do water change anytime?

One month. Do WCs as needed to control ammonia. Remember to redose Cupramine in the bucket to compensate for the water you are removing. You never want the copper level to drop for any reason, even for just a few minutes.

Guys. When is the copper treatment accomplished?

30 days of continuous treatment at therapeutic levels = >0.35 ppm when using Cupramine. 0.5 is what most people shoot for.

Today morning there was a problem. I found my qt overflowing water out to my foor. Good thing it was in the bathroom. The RO float was not shutting down. I check salinity was 1.22.

I took this opportunity to change water. I took out 30 liters of water, which was saturated at 1.25. I had mixed water ready. So I put new water in a bucket and added 30 drops of copper.

Now Cu is at 0.5 but salinity is at 1.23. Now i need to bring to 1.25. What do you suggest?

You can do one of two things. Top off with saltwater until it gets to 1.025 OR just let the water evaporate until it reaches the 1.025. very similar but easy and slow.

Last week i had an accident. The Ro float did not stop and the salinity dropped to 1.23. My guess is the copper concentration also dropped. I added back new mix water and brought copper back to .5.

I also disconnected the heater mistakenly and the water temp dropped about 2 degree celcius for day and night.

I found white spots on the hippo. My guess that is ich. I connected the heater and now ich have dissapeared. The fish have been sitting in copper for 25 days already. Ich reappeared on the 19th day.

Question is do i restart the whole process and wait 30 days with no sign of ich throught the entire time?

Generally yes. If the copper drops below therapeutic levels even once, the clock starts over again. Provided the fish are in good health otherwise and are eating and acting normally. Remember, they are living in a poison while this is going on.
