I just received in the mail (free of charge) a bottle Total Hardness Ultra High (THU) P/N 486669-A test strips. Unfortunately I still have readings that are "high" using the new strips . In other words no value given. I am assuming you don't need the drops with these strips, as you do with the THH strips. The frustrating part is I believe in this method, but the "bugs" are driving me nuts. My guess is Sensafe know that they have glitches and are finding it a challenge resolving them. They should hold a Q&A at MACNA.

the testing process for ca and thh are as follows.....
after rinsing and cleaning....
3.8 ml of tank water
2 drops for ca or 9 drops for thh
zero out
dip strip and press read.

this is the info I received directly from the company.

Yes, it is a great product, I like it very much, but unfortunately it still isn't working correctly.
You don't have to be a brain surgeon to find out some of the test results are not okay. Just take a water sample, run your iDip test and send in the same water to Triton.

I'm not getting frustrated anymore about this because I know when they want to launch the iDip e.g. in Germany... it has to work correctly.
There are two options in my humble opinion, make it work or let it become a flop.
Time will tell... :D

I'm sure they have the know how to make the iDip work correctly but unfortunately there is a total lack of communication from Sensafe.
I guess we all would feel better if they would take our complains seriously and tell us they are working on it...

SPotter,

The strips I just received are THU and not the THH you referred to in your reply. I am assuming that unlike THH one does not need to use drops for THU.

That's interesting. Would be nice if they came on here and clarified it.

The problem I have with the THH, is that it's hard to get a reading. Most of the time it shows "HI", which means that Mg cannot be measured.
And even when I get a THH reading, the Mg reading is way too low compared to Triton.
Of course you have to test Ca and press "results" first... :p

Still some work to be done...

That's another issue I pointed out to Sensafe, keep the website up-to-date...
When things has been updated e.g. the limits, how should we know?
I invite you to find the latest specs of the iDip 570 or the (latest) limits for measuring PO4...
So when my iDips shows "LO" or "HI" the next time, what does this mean??

Yes....there is no info on THU on their web site , although I am staring at a bottle of it as I type this. And it would also be nice if one knew what "hi" and "low" meant.

I just emailed Robin Locklair at Sensafe. She is the product manger who's card was enclosed with the THU bottle. I invited her to view this thread and suggested that her company should be active participants here. We will see.

At least they are consistent... ;)

It's the same overhere in Europe.
You will never get any feedback from the UK rep neither will you get any answer from the Dutch so called "distributor"...

There was a closed Facebook Group for the iDip users once...
Too many problems were reported so at the end this group was deleted...
Problems solved !

I'm registered as a beta tester and I'm running V2.3.3.8 at this moment.
My configuration file date is 11-04-17.

Yesterday I did some water checking. I do NOT test for NO3 and PO4 with the iDip anymore so I cannot tell you if anything has changed for those two tests.
What I do know is that e.g. Mg still way off compared with Salifert...

iDip Mg: 1137,76 ppm
Salifert Mg: 1320 ppm

iDip Ca: 416,8 ppm
Salifert Ca: 400 ppm

I will send in a water sample today to have it checked by a lab.

Yeah, mine works fine too...
Untill you start comparing the iDip readings to a lab test...

Let's wait and see what happens with the new THU, maybe the Mg readings are better too, that would be great.

Again, great product, well made and a lot of potential, but still some issues has to be resolved!
And... comunication from Sensafe, iDip, whatever you call them, overall is really, really sad... :(
