I currently have a male in my 55 gallon...I just bought a female and want the best success to breed them....what's the best way to get them together? Breeding? No fighting? And raising fry.

They have to be in breeding condition to even think about it. That means FAT. They gotta be eating really really well. That's step one. Live black worms are a good place to start that and live BBS

Well hopefully I can keep up with this thread for you all....I currently have the female in the tank with the male. As a precaution I have her in a clear slotted underwater fish container...water can move in and out but she can't roam freely. There has been interest down between the two and hopefully tomorrow if it's safe, I'll be able to let her roam.

I have a crap ton of pods, copepods and amphipods....they have continued to reproduce in my sump with chaeto and live sand and Rock. I can't even count the number just on the dumps glass. The male is far and sassy and it appears the female is as well....which is a plus...I have the two now and a red scooter Blenny. Which so far the male and Blenny have never had issues eating both are fat

So I added both the male and female into a strainer to see how they reacted. So far so good...very minimal pecking. I think I've noticed a total of three times of pecking...other than that, they swim together, same area, seems like they are getting along. If I can get them in pic I will post it...but they are both scavenging the rocks on the back side of the tank.

OK here's an update on the status of the pair. There has been no noticed fighting at all...at times that I have seen them they are following each other and usually sleeping close to one another which I'm so glad to see. It's pretty cool to watch them as they play like follow the leader!

Here's the female, sorry for bad picture quality, I'm using my phone and these guys are pretty shy so it's hard to get them on camera.

Hopefully soon I'll be up and running. For all of you who don't know I posted a post last night. My tank came to an abrupt stop after electrocuting me and falling in top of me and breaking

WOw! Hope you got that sutured! Sounds like you could have been injured worse (although that looks bad enough) with a tank falling on you! In this hobby I sometimes wonder about my logic when I have my hands in the tank, with all those electric cords feeding into the water too. Seems like every electrical appliance in says "disconnect power before servicing"! Best wishes for quick recovery.
