Hi there….this is my first post. My phosphates are .54. I’ve done several water changes to bring it down to this point but it won’t seem to get any lower.

Here’s what I have-
30 gal tank
Fluval 307 Canister-
Biomax rings x 2 levels
Carbon x 1 level
Black sponge
HOB Aquamaxx 1.5 Skimmer

In a the tank I have several types of frags and 7 small fish.

My numbers-
PH- 8.4
Alk- 10.4
Phos- .54
Calcium -440
Nitrate- 3ppm

Suggestions?

Judging from the looks of your corals and your other parameters - my first guess is your test results are wrong. Have you verified with a different brand? Maybe have your LFS test a sample?
No…I hadn’t thought about that. I’m using Hanna’s for the Phosphate and Alkalinity and API for the rest.

Water changes will help, but are not as effective with po4 as much is bound to rock and sand. Gfo in a mesh bag in a turbulent area will work. Target 0.1 ppm.
