Do what I did... go lights out for 3 days. Took care of it all. Never came back either. I have sps coral, lps corals and softies and also an anemone. Nothing got hurt. Took about two days for some of the coral to fully open but everything was fine.

I can't speak for others, but I tried this.... Multiple times.
I'm happy to hear you had success with it.

I had cyano that covered everything and was scared to use chemiclean and red slime remover. First thing was first though. I added better powerheads and then found the right amount of flow and then did the lights out. As you all may already know you wanna get rid of all dead spots. Anywhere that food can land in will really create problems.

Summary:
7 treatments with Chemi-Clean over 14 days
5 20% water changes
4 treatment combined with a 15% dose of H2O2
stopped dosing carbon
Still running GFO, and the rest of the system as normal.
Conclusion :
My observation, was the cyano was coming back before my last water change
During my last water change, I stirred the sand bed and then vacuumed, change filter socks, added carbon, installed a new GFO reactor. As of 5-21 the canon seems to have disappeared.

But, unless I misread the directions, the cost/gallon treated is considerably more.
Yes the altar life is more, I actually had better results with the ultra life.

Ain't that the truth!!:)

If and when the next battle happens I will treat with Ultra life again. I think I would have had to use multiple treatments though.;)

I went ahead and ordered enough UltraLife for two treatments. I'll use it for my last one, maybe a second if it looks like the tank could use it.

Just do the second one, to make sure you got it :). Make sure you also use a air stone in the DT. Before I tried both products is was so scared that I would crash the system and kill livestock. Used as directed and used long as directed my system looks good this morning. I have not had time in a few days to see the system with the light on.

Once you correct your problems that caused cyano, will any small remaining parts of it go away?

Did you do the Ultralife at the recommended dose, or higher?
