If it were kept out of water for a period while the rock was being chisiled down, it probably wouldn't survive. Since you got the rock in your tank whole it has a much better chance.Yes there is a montipora on the rock. Are you saying the monti won't make it?

I personally didn't note the monti as if it survived the long drive brobably out of water it'll be fine. I'm actually trying to kill some that fell into some rock. It's quite resilient.
If you have a thought on how to best help it survive. Please feel free to jump in.
