I started my 75 about 2 months ago have done water changes every week. 25% max. I am getting this cloudy milky water. I know they say bacterial bloom but I am not sure. I had an issue with micro bubbles. I have a fluval 407 and was trying to use a sow-8. I can not figure out how to clear my water. Done multiple changes. Please any advise would be appreciated. Do I need the sow8?

It has been my experience that canister filters and HOB filters are susceptible to bacterial infection. It is the sponges in the filter that become a breeding ground for bacteria.

Water changes will not clear up the problem because the source of infection is still in the tank ( such as the sponge in a HOB filter ).

A water change in conjunction with cleaning the filter media will do the trick in my experience.

Rinse the filter media in some RODI and place them back in the filter. The infection cleared up overnight.
