the water is high in my sump since i added some fish and rocks into my tank. is it ok if i just take some out ?

Yes, it's fine to just take some water out. Have you turned down your heater? Don't trust the settings on the heater. A small fan blowing across the water will reduce the temp. 80 is fine, but 78 would be better. In the summer my tank stays at 80. I keep my shrimp breeder tanks at 79.2
