Just was wondering, do you plan to use RODI water or treated tap water ? I have read that tap water often is high in phosphates so it can cause an algae bloom.

Will use RODI water at all times to keep nirate and phosphate under control as you suggest tap water can vary.

So much more equipment available now with so much control, don't think I will be using my old Red sea Berlin skimmer and ehime 1060 pump this time round.

Hi, have a timetable of six to eight months before I hope to be putting water into a tank which should be time to consider what are my best options. This as you know is not an easy choice, the more information I have the more difficult it becomes but also very enjoyable at the same time.
