I love this thread. Built my stand and canopy. Never worked with wood like this. But here are the complete pics. Don't like the structure of my canopy. So I may change it. Doors are a little off. So I may be re doing those too.

Has anyone created a roller hood? I am interested in creating one for my tank instead of the hood the I currently have.

Like it.
My setup is still going strong now five years later.

I got a email notice on my subscription to this thread - my post is on page 2 - April 2011!!

My mated clowns spawn every couple of months. I should figure out a way to raise them or something. When they swim they pretty much just disappear - filters, get eaten, whatever.

Yes. Sorry I'm a little late to the party :)
here are some old pics
120 in-wall
disclaimer: it ain't pretty, but it works ;)

this hood was a cheap project I had about $20. max. I spent more than a week taking an old hospital labor bed apart to cannibalize the parts for the vertical travel (worm drives/ driver for them). I did not have much height to work with, and being an in wall, that's what I did.
I used garage door track and rollers for 6' of horizontal travel.

But since this is about stands/ woodworking, the front pic should get us back on track (see what I did there ;) )

Oak, no nails, no brads, no metal, just glue.

When to mix up fish meal: When was the last time you tried a different brand of food for your reef?
