hi everyone, I want to buy a skimmer for my aqua one 275 cube.. Stock is Two damsels, cardinal, blue tang, sleeper goby, lawnmower blenny, two clowns and a mushroom coral, brain coral and small cluster of zooanthias.. Im deciding between the skimz 163 and NYOS quantum 120 or 160.. Any advice would be great.

Either of those skimmers would work just fine. You may want to look at the simplicity line as they are pretty much the same skimmer as the skimz, or the reefbreeders jebao line, all use the same pumps but these last two are quite a bit less. I like the dc pump driven skimmers myself due to the versatility.

What would be the best skimmer for around $250. I have a 125gal with a 55gal.

For that price there isn't a lot, but what I would run would be one of these.

https://www.reefbreeders.com/shop/d700-skimmer/

It uses a DC 3000 pump which should give you adequate air (the 1000lph range) and enough water flowthrough for that size of tank. It has a nice DC pump and the design is just the same as most others.

Fortunately I'm happy with my ReefOctopus XP-2000SSS. The bubble blaster pump is really nice too...

That looks like a pretty good skimmer the pipes look the me rubber which from my experience is very durable when taking apart the cheap see-through plastic ones can sometimes get brittle and break as for the box type not so much knowledge about it but yet my knowledge about skimmers in the hole is limited to recent research On them for I'm looking into buying one myself
