I've been working on this thing slowly but surely today, I've got my sump, skimmer "SWC 200", and refugium in the stand and I've got all the plumbing for the drain cut and ready to be glued into place. Pic's to come!

I just got home from my doctors appt and he wants me to call and make an appt with a hand surgeon tomorrow and see what she says about it..... I'm not very exited right now... My doctor doesn't want me to go back to work till I see her at the earliest.

Thanks!

I've been busy boiling the old live rock which has been sitting out in the sun for two days. Any suggestions on using this stuff? I'm guessing it will need to cycle again?

Yea it will have to cycle. No way could just throw together and reuse after boiling and sitting out. If was in barrels with water and some movement possibly get away with it.

Yeah it was covered with sponges, worm like things that looked like well um poop worms, and some had soft corals such as Kenya Tree on them that I pulled off and didn't want to chance having any suprizes later on. So boiling was a must IMHO, especially since the rock had to sit out for so long because of my finger.

I've got just a little more cleaning to do on the tank today and then I can add the rock, start trying to scape, add a little sand that I had sitting around, and then add about 100g of water that I have ready.

Sounds like off to a good start than ;). I boiled rock for 30 min than baked it at 450 to dry out and still had Aptasia survive it. Crazy lol

Holy smokes! I didn't see any Aptaisia on this rock so that's a good thing. Hopefully I got all the undesirables off of it. It's been in the sun drying for two days and after boiling it last night I put it out to dry out again.

I spent a few hours last night boiling some rock!

The pile.

The setup, dad's 15g stainless crab cooker and propane setup. I did about 8 batches of rock boiling 5 min at a time. Then I pulled them out and into the Rubbermaid and pressure washed them off in there. I got tons of gross stuff off of them.

Well dad's propane didn't even last long enough to get the first batch to a boil, so I had to rob my tank off of my BBQ. I'm loosing faith in stealing dads stuff hahaha.....

Boiled rock on the right, dirty rock on the left.

I've got all the plumbing done now, the tank is scraped and cleaned and I've began to rock scape. Pic's to come!
