I agree, it is tough to keep the list under 15, I need more like top 25-30

I really like wrasses, but I haven't had the chance to own as many as I would like.
I probably could've gotten to 15 easily, but I tried to contain all of these "Top ... Lists" to just ten.
And in order...

1. Harlequin Tuskfish (C. fasciatus)
2. Splendid Pintail Fairy Wrasse (C. cf lanceolatus)
3. Blue Striped Tamarin Wrasse (A. femininus)
4. Diamond Tail (Attenuate) Flasher Wrasse (P. attenuatus)
5. Ornate Leopard Wrasse (M. ornatus)
6. Hawaiian Flame Wrasse (C. jordani)
7. Lineatus Fairy Wrasse (C. lineatus)
8. Blue Star Leopard Wrasse (M. bipartitus)
9. Australian Scott's Fairy Wrasse (C. scottorum)
10. Royal Flasher Wrasse (P. angulatus)

I think there is a good chance that it will be comparable to rubrisquamis as far as aggression goes.
Yeah, I'd agree mostly, but probably not quite as bad.

What's your thoughts on katoi aggression TJ? I'm thinking middle of the road.

I don't know, it's pattering is very similar to the Cebu pylei and they can be real jerks, it also reminds me a lot of some of the species in the rubripinnis cmplex and there are some nasty temperaments there too.

Agree, but I also can't help but hold onto the belief it's also the link to jordani, which could put it somewhere in the middle.

H. iridis
Cirrhilabrus bathyphilus
Cirrhilabrus laboutei
Cirrhilabrus rubrimarginatus
Cirrhilabrus scottorum
Cirrhilabrus rhomboidalis

Cirrhilabrus lunatus
CIRRHILABRUS CF LANCEOLATUS
Anampses femininus
Macropharyngodon kuiteri
Macropharyngodon choati

Macropharyngodon ornatus
Macropharyngodon meleagris
Macropharyngodon geoffroy

Paracheilinus attenuatus

Cirrhilabrus claire- beautiful and my 3 yr old daughter is named Claire!

I think that's just wishful thinking, but I would be more than happy to be wrong on that as it's price should be somewhat attainable when it arrives.

I'm curious on the clairei's demeanor, especially as it matures, because to me it looks very similar to Cebu pylei in patterning, just different colors.

The Tahitians yes, the Cooks not to me. Hopefully I'll find out (and on the other for that matter).

Oh ok, so I have a problem, and it is hard to rank what I would love to own as a top 10 to 15. This is wishful thinking on some of these, but here goes. In no particular order.

1. Cirrhilabrus jordani
2. Cirrhilabrus cf exquisitus 5, Rowley Shoals form ( I know this is impossible)
3. Conniella apterygia
4. Anampses femininus
5. Pseudocheilinus waltonii and nursalim-both are equally gorgeous.
6. Cirrhilabrus humannii
7. Parodax caninus look freaking weird as hell and amazing colors.
8. Macropharyngodon vivienae
9. Xenojulis montillai (had one which came in as a 'Seagrass wrasse' at a LFS but it was in with a niger trigger who took bites and it never recovered.....stunning fish in bright greens and reds.)
10. Pseudojuloides severnsii
11. Macropharyngodon bipartitus and marisirubri
12. Macropharyngodon negrosensis
13. Anampses twistii
14. Cirrhilabrus cf. pylei
15. Cirrhilabrus cf. lanceolatus

I could keep going.

Ford I can't believe the meleagris male didn't make your list?!?! Especially since I know you have one. I have yet to see any fish come close to the electric blue that looks like under good leds... I couldn't make a list common names or not, too many great wrasses out there. But for the sake of trying in no particular order:

M. Meleagris
Potters leopard
liniatus
rhomboid
exquisite
scotts
bipartitus
timor
radiant
xmas (any of those 3 that are fairly close)
orange back
vroliks
Kuiters
pink margin
velvet
Not a fan of choati's I kind of feel like everyone likes the challenge of keeping one alive because it doesn't really do much for me.

And I have it to look it up when you guys use the scientific names :( lol

Yeah the male melagris and bipartus belong there as well. I have two male bipartus and one female melagris.

Dang, I left out my leopard wrassses!

Macropharyngodon geoffroy and ornatus at least. 15 is way too few, we need to change it to 25.:)

I decided Psychadelic wrasse is impossible. Any body else keep them alive???
I have a female that is the most enthusiastic eater in my tank and is doing great ::hope I didn't just jinx myself:: I know that the males are more finicky, though.
