Day 12 4x doses @ 80ml total

Cyano seems kicked back quite a bit now. The last of the thick mat is just about gone now. Hair algae still doesn't seem effected. Glass film algae still coming back but doesn't seem as strong tonight.

Day 13 4x doses @ 80ml total

Thick mat is all gone. But the dusting of it has spread. 5th dose tomorrow night. Algae still looks healthy.

Day 14 4x doses @ 80ml total

Seems like the cyano is trying to make a come back. Keep in mind this is totally a nutrient problem. One which I'm causing. :)

I have not reduced feedings at all. 5th dose goes in tonight.

If I may, as I do think it's relevant. Cyano appearance is not uncommon with Vibrant dosing. A few I recall did not have cyano before some did. So this is actually a good datapoint.

Thanks for he updates.

Thanks.

And comments are always more then welcome. As for the cyano coming back could be many things. For me the algae has been growing and cyano shrinking. Now, I was due to clean my ATS Saturday or Sunday night and I did not get a chance to get to it. I'll clean it off tonight hopefully. See what kind of reaction occurs after that.

Hey Jason have you tried culturing the bacteria by chance?

Not yet.

Edit: and keep in mind a lot of marine bacteria don't culture well or at all. But we're told this doesn't reproduce well in our tanks so that could be good for attempting to culture some.

Day 15 5x doses @ 100ml total

Cyano getting thicker again. I will pull the ATS tonight, unless something else comes up, and see how it's production as been since starting the Vibrant dosing. Then see how the tank reacts to a clean screen.

Oh yeah, did you see my metronidazole update? That had most definitely worked against my larger dinoflagelet type (Alexandrium maybe). At least massively knocked it back. The smaller ones were unaffected which I also believe to be more beneficial types of phytoplankton.

It got knocked back a lot right at the start. Just recently started to come back but hasn't reached the thick mat level it started at.

Another dose tomorrow night.

Also, keep in mind I have not touched it which I would suggest others to siphon it out.

And I have not reduced my nutrients import which includes many elements along with phosphates and nitrates. I would suggest others to get their feeding under control. (But not by starving their fish and other inhabitants!)
