It was sold to me by Salty Underground as Green Shaggy Leptoseris. The general consensus from people I have shown is that it is actually a Pavona. I'm not enough of an expert to say one way or the other.
Looks like something I was told is a Pavona, just looked at mine earlier and admired the green speckles.

I chose sps as I just got 10 sps corals (1 act a lps) but I'd put myself at a tie of sps and lps as my next coral buys will be wavy lps's like hammers and torches. But I also love acans and meat corals and they are also on my list. I have a huge plate that just amazes me

In general, probably Torches, anemones, and zoanthids.

In the upper echelons, bounces, splices, acropora in general

Most acros fall in price, this one doesn't, and for good reason, it's a finicky piece. But dang when she's happy she's a looker!!! RRC JD

I feel like acros aren't going anywhere but there seems to be a resurgence of interest in hobby classics. Shrooms and high end blastos seem to be making an appearance, along with harder to come by softies like Japanese nepthea or weeping willow toadstools. Torches seem to be cooling off a bit and their prices have gotten a bit better

Thought I'd share this acanthophylia, which took picture at local lfs as they had big massive event, opening of upstairs shop expansion and all corals cheaper than usual as in massive sale over that weekend, but still £1450.00 British pounds which I believe is best part off $2000.00 American dollars lol,it was good 30cm across by 20cm front to back and 15 cm high and very pretty coral and massive and has ultra in the name so must be worth that much money right ^_^
And would dread to think how much it would off been before the event or if not sold, after the event lol

I voted SPS but honestly think LPS probably better looking but I think the extra winning attraction to SPS is the challenge of keeping the coral alive then making it thrive.

Be careful to try and get it isolated onto one rock. It spreads really well and it's VERY difficult to remove from a rock. VERY VERY difficult. :0)
This is where it is. It is on a separate rock but has almost encrusted it. It might be starting to spread to main rock. Will the sps keep it in check? Or will it grow over their bases. It is very happy where it is so I don't want to upset it lol's.

What species is that? It’s stunning
Looks like a pavona. I have a big one and two frags currently growing out in my tank if anyone is interested.
