Hey guys,

Im new to the hobby. I have a 32 gallon saltwater tank about 3 months in that has live rock, 2 clownfish, 1 diamond goby, 4 hermit crabs. The live rock came with some small snails, now there's 100s of them. That's one thing. The bigger question I have is that there started to appear 100s of these white dot star looking things all over the tank glass. They don't really move. They look different than copepods (which I have as well). I've included several different photos since they are hard to picture as they are very small. Any idea what they are?

Welcome to Reef2Reef!

Looks like medusa-stage hydroids to me. They're common in new tanks and typically go away on their own (though they can survive if they have enough food - copepods and such - or if they're photosynthetic).
