I gotta say I have been checking in on this thread a here and there waiting to see what that cannon of a light looks like over a tank. For now I Will keep following.

Aaaaaaand, finally wired and hung!

It's a very pretty light. Lots of shimmer and definitely strong enough. Sorry about the iPhone pic.

Dumb question, but is the color spectrum ok for everything, fish and coral? It doesn't look nearly as blue in person but it is definitely blueish.

I think it would look better with a bigger round one (better proportions), but this one was free!
Ikea had some good ones!

Yea, I forget the specs but it should be fine. Does it have some control of the mix and intensity?

Nope, just plugged in or not plugged in. That is one of the reasons I hung it on a chain, so it can be raised and lowered.
hmm. Ill take a look at it.
If you dont have a par meter you can get a LUX meter for about $15 and see what your getting out of it.
