20000K XM MH bulbs with dual-band (420 & 460 nm) CF actinics. It does wonders coloring corals up and bringing out their colors. Main display has a modified Current USA CF fixture. I took out the daylight bulb and replaced it with the MH.

I have 2 x 250w XM 10k halides with 2 x 110w VHO super actinics. Just got two slightly used 400w MHs that I think I'm going to run 14k bulbs in but don't know if I'm going with VHOs or T5s for the actinic. I have 4ft VHOs running in the same room a 4ft T5s and I really cant see a difference.

I am using only CF lighting, 96 watts of 50/50 over my 10g tank. When I get a larger tank I will be using T5's most likely.

I use ONLY T5, switched from halide/VHO combo. I have an SPS tank, with 4 bulbs on an IC 660, a GE 6.5K, Ati Pro Color, Geismann True actinic, and a geismann actinic plus. I also use a fifth bulb for dawn to dusk, a true actinic on a workhorse 5 ballast.

Works great for me, and the best part is the wattage... 374W for the T5, and 610W for the old metal Halide/VHO combo. Oh, this is on a 4ft 90 gallon tank.

Current Tank:

250w Radium 20k
24w URI VHO Super Actinics (2)

New tank:

250w Radium 20Ks (2) on Icecap ballasts
110w URI VHO Super Actinics (2) on Icecap 660
54w ATI B+ W/ Icecap reflectors (2) on Icecap 660

Depending on how it looks. I may change out the B+ for Specials.

Currently I have (2) 250w Hamilton MH's and (2) 110w VHO's.

I am going to switch to a Radium MH and some T-5's soon I hope. ;)
