That's a new name for that one. Also called 24k and before was something else. that's an expensive torch and nice find

I paid $100 and when I got it it was full yellow. It stayed full yellow in my Waterbox, I moved to my 75 and it developed the purple. Now it’s in the pico and I’m wondering what it will do

Corals transition color based on lighting and nutrients. Some shades others may develop more or change. It all depends on the coral and family. Hearing that about a torch is new to me lol. So that is interesting. Makes me wonder about some of these torches being sold lol. Tempting for a 100 lol.

Ironically bought two

1) went in 75 - stayed yellow. Shown attached

2) went in the Waterbox 15, stayed yellow

Then number 2 was moved into the 75 with torch 1 and developed purple

Ok so had some issues with crowding. And still do. Seems torch just loooove to stretch out in this tank and take up a lot of room. I put small baby 1-2” torches in this tank, and in a few weeks they are 4” or more lol. I’ve swapped torches several times and they just grow fast and need to be replaced.

So I decided to put in a frogspawn instead. And now…it’s bigger than it’s ever been. Gonna have to trade this out also

Here are some updated pics, tank is doing great. Waterline is low because the return is turned off for pictures. The frogspawn is hitting walls on 3 sides when flow is on.

Removed frogspawn last month
Removed excessive gsp - it’s still on the tonga branch but closed due to night time.
Added Cynarina - figuring that the torches and frogspawn just seem to grow too fast, so I’ll put in something that grows very slowly
Still continues successfully with no water changes or maintenance besides refilling the ato. Don’t even need to clean the glass on this setup. Completely hands off

Love this tank. Once I have my current one set and rolling, I think this is the way to go next.
Thanks! It’s a great tank, I barely have to do anything for it. Avoid gsp or anything fast growing. The gsp constantly needs pruning. I’m considering removing all of it

I always keep spare rock packed in my sump. Various sizes and Rubble. Along with a bag of matrix. Never know when you’ll need to seed a qt or hospital tank, or start up a random pico you find on sale!

To this day, no maintenance done on the tank except for very occasional glass cleaning, gsp pruning, refill ato, and all for reef occasional addition

I always havs tons of matrix in my sump but migh as well add a few pices of rock.

I want to do this with one of three RS ATO tanks I have around.
either that or gonna make a vivarium or the like...

rehomed a blasto colony. In my 75g this just was lost and couldn’t be appreciated. In here it’s right out in the open on display adding color :)

It’s the border for an acrylic lid
They mess with my camera so I normally remove the lid for photos
