I know it’s not a reef tank, but I just wanted to share this walstad freshwater shrimp jar sitting next to the reef tanks. It is turning into a jungle!

Nice, planted tanks are just as fun as reefs to me. Is that rotala?
I started with saltwater, but planted tanks have started to get me to absolutely fall in love with freshwater. They are stunning and different but just as special in a unique way as a reef tank ecyosystem. Yes! Rotala. It does really well in these totally stagnant jars.

My tank won a tank of the month contest for our local reef club! They did a very extensive video interview with me where you can find probably the most verbal information I have ever given about my tanks and reef journey. Hopefully someone finds it entertaining or valuable here.

I noticed one of the RFAs was on the move after I added another new on in their group a few days ago. I swear I have seen this happen multiple times: I add a new one, the old ones next to it it scurry around, than all come back to the same spot! I think it is because since they don't have brains the RFAs dont realize it can just move left or right 1 inch instead of going around the entire tank 3x times to move over an inch hahaha.

I am glad I noticed and turned my Hygger off. I woke up the next morning and it was right on the Hygger. When you have 15-20 mini anemones a wavemaker can be deadly. Hopefully it moves on its own soon, or else I am going to have up pluck it off.

I’m surprised these money cowries are not more popular. They’re sweet looking and have all lived multiple years for me plus do work on algae.

I would like to see you make reef2reef tank of the month but like you say it takes time to make a tank look good. In the meantime there is Reef Tank 365 you could put your nomination in for.

Is Reef Tank 365 another forum website?

I don’t think I’ve shared the ***** twister blastos yet! I got them and a black widow. For some reason the black widow has been doing terrible the entire time. I think I’m going to switch it to another tank in a last ditch effort. The other B.Wellsis in the tank look great!

In the background you can see a mini Scoly growing off the main one that died year. Coral rejuvenation is amazing!

@SauceyReef It’s a sticky thread in the General Reef Discussion forum here on R2R.
