I haven't followed this super closely but been reading the cliff notes...poopy situation, skimmer poopy situation.

Whenever this pops up on top of my feed all I can do is sing the "chilis baby back ribs" song where it goes "I WANT MY BABY BACK" but it's "I WANT MY PAR METER BACK" andddd I bust out laughing.

That being said I hope it's resolved amicably.

I was thinking kind of the same except that maybe the meter borrower is in need of some assistance putting a life back together.

I hope you get the meter back. In the future, I’d get a signed agreement with a driver’s license number. That can be done electronically as well. They may feel that you gave them the meter if they didn’t ask for it, but it was included in a shipment. But that’s speculation, hopefully it all works out.

As far as asking others to go to their house, you are asking for a lot of personal liability if something goes wrong, imo. I would personally either call the police in their area, or let it go as a lesson learned.

I had a leak in a water pipe this morning that I had to climb in the attic and sweat pipe to fix. I almost called a plumber because I am so old and had to look for an hour to find where i had misplaced my map gas torch. Took most of the day and I'm feeling pretty good that I had the pipe and fittings and solder and rosin and stuff to be able to fix it myself. The leak wasn't too bad and I think I will be able to get by without having to replace drywall.

I'm glad you posted again with an update about these folks. They had fallen out of my mind and how can a person pray for another when we so easily forget the situation so many others are dealing with. Time for me to pull my head out of the place I tucked it into last week during a stressful series of minicrisis and be thankful for how fortunate I am.

Yeahhh next time if you loan try doing a deposit say I’ll lend this to you. Send me $250. I’ll give the $250 back once the meter is back with me.
