Added a "pink crew" to the Fish QT today. 2 x Randall's Anthia (F), Bimaculatus Anthia (M), ORA Splendid Dottyback, African McCosker's Wrasse. 2 X Lettuce Nudibranch to the Coral/Invert QT and a purple long tentacle anemone will go straight into the DT.
The two on the ends are only supported on two sides. It's a tight fit so that helps. I purchased a small piece of lexan polycarbonate that I'm am going to cut into 1" strips and super glue to the larger screen so they are supported on 3 sides. The middle is supported on 3 sides so it is good.
Its a combo of both Lowes and BRS (same stuff). I would recommend just going to a box store to get the sides and corners. (Less $) and get the clear netting for from BRS.
I used yeast daily for about 2 weeks. It browned out the diatoms quite growing. I then went on vacation for a week and upon return they were gone.
I wasted an hour of my life reading this!? Oops "spent a very informative hour".
I love your refugium, great set up.
How many gph do you recon is going through it? What lighting is over it?
I run a 550 litre (England here, sorry) 138 G water volume here, no socks, no reactors no skimmer and no floss, refugium only, great build!
I hope you enjoyed your hour. You got me back as I have been thinking about an estimate for the flow rate for 4 hours now. It's only a guess but I estimate 75-100gal/hour. (300~400L... I'm a chemist by school no longer by practice and wish we used metric system. Our system is the fault of you Brits.). The lighting is 3 x 6500K LED bulbs from the hardware store. Nothing special.
