Hi all,

I have my first (ever) "batch" of clown fry feeding on rotifers now 48 hours old. At some point I will switch to TDO chroma boost (size A)

Question: how do I feed this to the fry? It is fine as sand and very hard to spread as surface food. Any advice will be appreciated [emoji4]

Question: when do I start feed TDO, day three, day four?

I am not trying now, but I will in a few days. I will be using it instead of brine shrimp. During my research I have learned that TDO chroma burst is a better "second" food than brine.

I am just unsure how to feed it to the fry/juveniles.

Yep, I am planning to wait a few days. But how do I feed them with the fine grains? I simply don't know how to add it to the tank [emoji4]

Good question i have never used it.. through the first 12 to 15 days before metamorphosis i just use rots and hatched brine, both live and moving in the water column. After that the eat just about any thing you put in the tank.

I start TDO A at 5 days. Usually just sprinkle on top of the water and it starts to slowly sink.

I culture phytoplankton as well, in reality the only thing we need to culture is the rotifers... I'm still learning though - I only have 40 hours of experience in raising clown fry :-D

Some of the fry are "searching along the edge of the aquarium- is this a bad thing? Could the light be too bright?

Just keep your rots populated in the tank and look to make sure there bellies are staying full. There yolk sacks are gone by now so if you have little skinny guys they most likely won't make it. As far as sprinkling this other food try a small spoon like what comes in a test kit or maybe mix it with tank water in a cup and broadcast it on the surface of the water nice and slow with a baseter?
