the PE has been insanely good since I added the extra fish. They must be adding a good amount of waste, plus the extra food I am feeding, the corals are loving it. I have not tested nitrate or p04 in over 2 months, clearly it mustve been pretty low and the corals are loving the extra stuff.

Well soon after this post, I noticed my PE going down a lot, especially on my millis (which obviously usually have the best)

I dipped a couple and found out I had AEFW and I was instantly worried and upset. I dipped all the corals in my frag tank and then I decided to take the plunge with the PURGE product to treat the whole system as there was no way I could remove some of the corals from my DT nor honestly did I have the time.

I have just put my 3rd dose of PURGE in my tank on Saturday the 9th. I am now on day 16 and I can honestly say I have no seen a single egg or an AEFW from basting my corals or from any dips in over a week. I also (KNOCKING ON WOOD) have had not a single loss of SPS and the millis are looking a ton better and I have no more bite marks and the PE is getting insanely good again.

I think I am going to do one extra dose then what is needed just to make sure I get rid of them, especially since this has had absolutely no ill effect on my tank besides it looking brownish from the product and my nutrients getting a little higher since I have no ran my skimmer with the cup on since I started the treatment.

Well I am almost completely done PURGE and I can say I have no bite marks, no eggs and no adult AEFW in my tank and I havent seen them in 2 weeks now. I do not know how people say this killed their corals. I can definitely say its not from the product and it is from either their alk spiking or their colonies were so far gone that they couldnt recover.

I would recommend this to anyone that has AEFW, thinks they may have it or honestly to just be preventive in the future if you have a large setup with a ton of SPS. especially if you have gotten new ones in the past month or so and dont have a good QT system.

I am really thankful for @UWC and this product. Thanks again guys!

I went on vacation for a week and came back to notice a small leak that my ATO was able to keep up with but I wish it didnt honestly because when I was gone I thought everything was fine but realistically it was not at all. My salinity fell from 1.026 to 1.021 and that affected my corals growth so my alkalinity rose from 6.8 to around 9.5. Needless to say the corals were not happy.

PE when I got back was not good at all and I was worried I was going to lose a lot of pieces but I corrected it as fast as I can and corals are definitely rebounding. PE is good for the first 4-5 hours of lights but then around hour 6, the PE decreases. I am hoping that is just because they are stressed and they will recover, but I am keeping my eye on that. I do have some STN on the bottom of my corals and one coral has lost a lot of tissue in the middle of my tank (luckily it is a blah wild acro so I am not worried) I do have a little STN on the bottom of my mini colony of Oregon Tort in the DT, which I am watching closely to make sure it does not spread or I may try to frag it out and glue over the dead tissue.

Also the reason the alkalinity rose and I didnt notice it, is I of course ruined the mother board of my KH Guardian right before I left so noone was testing alkalinity to catch it till I got back. I should get a new mother board in the mail next week for the KH Guardian so that will be great to get back on board.

To the positive, the new wrasses I got are doing great in QT and I moved them to an acclimation box yesterday and will release them on Friday probably.

PE is the best that I have had in awhile, I am going on vacation this weekend so I am a little worried but hopefully everything will be fine.

Alkalinity is right around 8 now, still waiting to get the new mother board to have the KHG back setup, hopefully sometime next week.

I also switched out the Jabeos pumps on the left side for a gyre, and I think I like the flow a lot more. Still playing with how I want to run them but right now I have both on pulsing at around 80%.

Phosphates and nitrates are a bit high as I didnt have the skimmer running for awhile with the purge treatment, etc so I am skimming pretty wet right now to hopefully get them down. I also will be doing a water change next weekend, I dont want to do one right before I leave on vacation. I never want to change anything right before I leave.

Got the motherboard back for the KH Guardian and it is by far the most consistent it has ever been now with the upgraded voltage and rollers. Really loving it now.

I ordered a labout wrasse from LiveAquaria and it arrived in awful shape, died within 5 hours. I just ordered another one this morning that hopefully will be in a lot better shape when I get it tomorrow.

I will be taking some updated pictures hopefully sometime soon.

Checked it with the salifert and aquaforest test kit everytime it tested and it was right on!

Very very happy with how accurate the KHG now that I have the updated motherboard, tubing and some other parts. Corals look as good as every too. Not going to be adding any corals for a long time and just let everything grow in now along with selling some frags as many corals are getting real close to touching in the DT

I have a Labout wrasse, carpenters wrasse and yellowfin flasher wrasse that I have had in QT and now I have them in an acclimation box in my DT. As long as everything keeps going great, I will be releasing them on Friday out of the box.

Horrible quality but just took this after I let the new wrasse go into the DT. Everything is going great, excited to see the growth in the next month that everything is stable now.

I turned down the flow a little bit in my gyres as I honestly think I have been using too much flow even though everyone says that is not possible, we will see if I keep it this way. However 2 days later, I already have much better PE all over the corals and especially from the growth tips which I see as a good sign.

I did order more fuel as I am about out, I forgot to use it for around a month but I noticed when I started again that the corals looked better. I am also going to start doing at least 1 water change every month starting this week.

Well I just tested phosphate for the first time in I have no idea and it was over 200 ppb so who knows how high it really is. Definitely going to be cutting back on feeding and how much fuel I add. Potassium also was only 280 which it also was on my ATI ICP test.

What I did was add around 1 cup of gfo with a slow flow to my sump which is less then half of the recommended and I am also going to be reading up on the best potassium additives as I need to get that up.

This may be why my PE hasn’t been the same for the past couple months along with other stuff but phosphates that high cannot be good. Nitrates were right around 12-16 which I’m not that worried about.

I am also thinking this is why a lot of my corals have been turning more green and probably why the PE decreases as the day goes on because they’re not happy with the high phosphate level.

Also I think people say purge can have some affect on sps so it could be that also

Yeah I thought about that. Luckily there is no die off it is just not looking the best, colors definitely have declined. I am going to do a water change every week for the next couple weeks to hopefully reset things. Alk has been really steady this entire time and PE is really good during lights off so not really worried but also don’t want to wait months to have really good colors again on majority of my pieces. But that’s what it is sometimes.

Slowly started to add potassium yesterday (KCL), added around enough which should raise it by around 50. I will test when I get home for lunch to see what it shows on the salifert test now. I definitely dont want to overdose or go too quick so I am being extra careful. I do not know how fast I can raise it and unfortunately noone has answered in my other threads I started asking.

I will be changing all the carbon and DI Resin tonight and I will do another small 20 gallon water change tomorrow. Hoping a couple water changes over the next month or so will reset things and get back to the way it was. I also got Phosphate RX that is being delivered tomorrow that I will slowly add a drop or two every other day to help with phosphates and hopefully slowly bring those down too along with the water changes :)

Alk has been very steady via the KH Guardian:

04/01 22:11:30 KH :7.48

just put in the first dose of phosphate RX this morning, I only did 3 drops.

Phosphate with the ultra low range is now 112, was over 200 before. I will be adding 1 drop a day and be testing phosphate everyday to see how it drops.

PE looks alot better and has looked good almost the entire day which is great to see, hopefully the colors will come back slowly too :)

Been about a week since I raised the potassium level to 400 and also started adding the phosphate rx last week. Corals look a lot better and are gaining more PE every day it seems like and are keeping it the entire day.

I also started using Flatworm Stop on Friday the 12th as I noticed when I looked back at some photos of my old setup, the corals growth and color was great and I was using FWS then but never had any flatworms so I am starting it again. I am interested to see how the growth is and also how PE/colors are in the next months.

SPS are definitely a lot happier now as my alk was always around 7.5-8 with the KHG but now it is dropping below 7 as the consumption is a lot more which is a good sign. Had to increase the kalk usage every hour and still using my calcium reactor too.

Now I am not changing anything for at least 1 month to see how everything does now that everything is stable. Going back to keeping everything stable and simple :)
-Just dosing 1-2 drops of phosphate rx a day
-Dosing FWS everyday
-Dosing Aquavitro Fuel whenever I remember
