I went to see my new acupuncturist for the first time and was happy to see a 60gal cube reef. It is another office mates tank. It didn't look so good [emoji22]

Reef tanks in the work place can also suffer from neglect, due to lack of time. At my old office I paid a LFS $100 every two weeks to do WC and routine maintenance. I designed this new system to be as maintenance free as possible since I'm planning on doing the maintenance myself.

-Apex controller
-Fish room with RODI and Mixing containers
-Automatic water changes
-Auto feeder
-Biopellet reactor
-Calcium reactor
-Skimmer neck cleaner
-Skimmer overflow container w/auto shut off
-Use of Chemi Pure Elite carbon bags
-GHL doser for Amino acid and supplements

The plumbing of both RODI and Mixing tanks are complete! I still have to hook up and program the DOS to do auto water changes.

That's a great job!

I will have my new tank set up for a auto water change soon! If you have time I would love to hear the details of how you have yours set up. I would also use the DOS.

Time for a field trip @revhtree and as bonus you can get a mouth piece or retainer checkup;)

Update: I had to order a booster pump for my RODI system because I was burning through DI resin at an alarming rate. My water pressure is around 47 psi just below the required 50 psi for a 75 gal/day system, but I have already exhausted 2/3 of my DI resin (container 1) after only producing 60 gallons of RODI. I will also be adding a auto flush and pressure switch.

How do you know you are burning through your resin?

My DI resin changes from black to brown when it gets exhausted. The botton 2/3 of container 1 is already brown after producing only 6o gallons. My home RODI (same system) has only burnt through 1/2 of DI resin in 6 months. My water pressure at home is 60 psi without using a booster pump.
