I just purchased a RO unit from Home Depot. I hope this will support my tanks needs. Also for the first time I bought my salt water instead of making it. I got lazy this week.
You'll want to test the TDS output on that new unit. Home units tend to run a bit differently that the Reef units we use. Such as the micron, and carbon filters they use.
Well, during an observation of my tank. I have noticed an extremely small yellow dot in the sand. I have enlarged the picture as much as my camera would allow. Any ideas of what this little guy is?
:crazy:I have done things to my tank these past few days that should have killed everything in my tank.
I got lazy and bought some sea water already mixed. Well, lessoned learned on testing water before adding.
I also thought that I would like to add more sand. Mine was seeming dull. Hmmmm should I even respond to that?:embarrassed:
It doesn't look like I have lost anything, but my corals are closed pretty tight.
Oh,,,,did I mention, my husband states "he is so over this tank".

I sure hope so. I'm just going to try and ride this out. My tank is a bit clearer tonight. But my fish seem aggressive tonight. I think my frog spawn has died. I will give a some time just to make sure. Maybe it will surprise me and come back. Any advice?
This is the most active my fish have ever been. Wish I could nap the dam damsel though. Lol. Thank you all for the great advice. I am sure glad I came to this site. I will ever stop asking questions.
I happened to be on FB when I saw a post come up from Aqua SD for sales on 100 new coral frags. I jumped into the pictures and hope to be accepted for 7 frags. The colors are amazing. Hope I made a good choices.
I had to start another tank. Just couldn't stand just one. It has been running since January, and going to be a true beauty when done. At least for me, LOL
T5 lighting added to my AL SOL Blue is it to much?
After doing some investigation, I hear more talk about the T5's helping a reef tank grow. I added a 39w 4 bulb T5 to my 55g. But now I see. Bit of brown algae growing. Is it to much light? Should I alternate the lights and times. I am waiting for a. I true of CUC.
