^I was wondering that myself.

I saw in a previous post where you tried the Mr. Clean Bar (brush)? But curious if you tried the Mr. Clean Magic eraser? My personal #1 aquarium cleaning implement!

But I too am curious what the "next level" is?

This got me thinking.....I would think soda blasting could be a viable option and certainly worth a shot depending on the extent of the "stains" your dealing with.

What is the next level?

How about those Mr. Clean erasers?

Next thing is possibly use a buffer or something that is more abrasive or live with it.

I've already tried the Mr. Clean Magic eraser. My girlfriend even thought it was such a great idea that I had her do it after I tried. Let's just say she gave up quicker then I did. LOL

I haven't looked further into it but will do soon.

I had an old 180 that had the same issue 12gallons of vinegar later, and still looked like that...
Cerium Oxide felt polish pad.
Works but takes a ton of man hours.

This is the link to the stuff in case you want to try it--> link

Excellent! This is exactly what I was looking for. Hopefully with some more elbow grease I can get this thing sparkling again!

Thanks, next part is to get it to hang and the wires addressed. Need to look into Apex control for the LEDs so I can adjust the brightness through that instead of the dimmers.

Got my aluminum stand, same guy who has built my stands locally with excellent turn around time. He used the same 2x2" square tubing but beefed up. It should look great once everything is fitted and set up.

Placement of the stand, had to clean up or rather move around a lot of crap to get it in place.

Time to cut the wood! Simple enough you would think...

Sanded edges so its nice once painted

Flushed screw heads

Top done!

Bottom was some what a little bit more challenging. I had to cut notches in the wood for the leg on the stand and compensate for the welds.

Not the proper tools but it was late and the grinder is my best friend!

Next up will be painting and then securing it down to the stand.

Grinder worked perfectly!

Everything mounted and looking good. Now to wait for the BRS order to come in so a friend can help build the overflow and sump.

Everything is coming along real good.

Thanks!

Got some stuff done today and yesterday or rather what I could due to rain.

Got the tank filled up and tossed in the Jebao RW-15s to see what I should be expecting. Not too bad with nothing in the tank. No leaks but I do plan on resealing the corners and the bracing on top. Still need to order the cerium oxide & a felt buffing pad to clean up the tank before sealing.

Almost looks like an old school tank.

Not sure how old it is myself but it is used.

I've been working on some rock aquascaping tonight. I'll post some pictures up tomorrow. Going with the minimalist look, I plan to keep it clean with a lot of negative space.

It looks like it is coming together. I'm excited to see the outcome. I did the same thing with my last 210 tank. Then just built up my 150. I keep forgetting to take photos along the way. I really like the stand too

Snaps some pictures, I love following build threads! Always getting new ideas on how to improve things and incorporate them in.

Picture update!

Sunday was a busy day, didn't have time to upload images till now.

Travertine tile cut and fitted nicely. I decided to go with this again since my other tanks have worked out great. I'll be using sand I got from @joshporksandwic, thanks a million! Great to have awesome friends!!!

Need to wash the sand and it should be enough to put a thin layer to even out with the glass that the original builder used to reinforce the side glass of the tank.

Bin full of rocks...
20455945279_c462e47552_z.jpg

This is what I came up with, 4 structures. Most of it will be for SPS, hence the tonga branching rocks. I ended up going for the minimalist look, the tile should help with the biological filtration.

Looking great! Tile huh? Love that idea. Does it need to be a certain type/brand of tile? And do you need to caulk or glue the pieces together, or will fitting them as close together as possible work? I ask bc I really want to incorporate this into my next build, but some type of black tile
