Very nice! I really like the stacked PVC idea. Are you using the solid PVC or expanded PVC? I am working on a 80/20 stand for a 8' 300g tank (coincidentally with a 20" synergy reef overflow, :) ) and that is an excellent way to top it off!

Thanks! I used expanded PVC , Sintra brand. I am really happy how it turned out. Just used 3M spray adhesive to bond it together. Awesome to hear about the new build with our overflow :D Make sure to update me if you have a build going or at least post some pics on our forum on here. Sounds like it will be nice!

Sintra is all over my tank :).... you should see what you can make out of it once you find out you can chemically weld it :p

It is cool stuff. I haven't built a lot out of yet, but from what I have done it's nice.

I got so much inspiration from your stand build from 80/20...outstanding job. I'm currently working on two stands but having a difficult time finding the right hardware from tnutz you used for all your gusseted inside corner brackets...Is it (stainless) BUTTON HEAD SOCKET CAP SCREW? Thread size : 5/16-18
Length: 3/4" or 5/8" or 7/8" ? Also how were you able to support your pvc on top of your stand? Sorry to give you homework but I am need of some help I would appreciate any info, again outstanding work not just on your stand but your whole build

Awesome! Glad you liked it that much :)

Yes I used the T-nutz 5/16 - 18 x 5/8" for all the gussets. Here is a link http://www.ebay.com/itm/261277799911

for the top of the stand I counter sunk some holes and then put those same bolts thru the holes with the nut underneath. I took pictures but cannot find them for some reason.

Thanks. I have been planning the build for over 1.5 years. I drew everything out in CAD to make sure everything fit how I wanted. Planning is the key.

For reference, what are the dimensions of that board? I'm trying to plan out mine now and I like how much space you have between each unit.

Love the build @mixer911 !!! My stand is built out of 80/20 as well. I love this stuff and so fun to build. As your an open stand fan I did the same. Why hide all that fun / sexy equipment? if you get a chance to check out my stand I welcome feedback here's my build...

Keep up the good work!!!

Nice build! I like how you did your build as well!
I am all about the open stand or viewable equipment. Being a equipment nerd myself, I think it's just as important to view the equipment as I do the inhabitants. When we started our company, that is what we wanted to do, make people great looking equipment that can be enjoyed.

Tank is doing well. It went thru a major cycle, mainly because of me not putting my bio pellets online from my old system and not reusing the sand bed. That caused a huge loss of bacteria and the cycle happened. I lost some of my sps colonies but everything else survived and is doing fine. Here is a couple of quick phone pics.
