So good and bad news this morning. Well, really only bad news. And 2 things.

As you all know, the coral shipment hasn't updated yet, which isn't a good sign.

The other thing is that my anthias passed away last night.

The good news, I guess, is that my other seven fish are healthy, and eating as of now, so hopefully whatever happened to my anthias won't cause other fish to die to.
Sorry bud

Our talk the other day about power outages got my anxiety going hahhah

I’m looking into getting the ecotech battery backup for my return since it also feeds my frag tank that will help flow now I’m questioning heat so obviously the answer is UPS backup connected to the apex and I’m. It going to cheap out I would 100% buy the largest so do I even need the ecotech backup?
Just get a standby generator :winking-face-with-tongue:

Aiptasia killing day....
20250218_124454.jpg
I smeared these in kalk paste and added it to a bucket of saltwater.
See how it goes....
Did this yesterday.
It worked but I lost all the beautiful coraline on it.
I'm sure all the bacteria is gone too but this rock had about 100 aiptasia on it.
I've got lots of rock and the bacteria will populate again.

@luis angel
Luis here's a picture of an aquaclear hob running on my little tank.

It takes up very little room.
Let me see if I can find one around here to try because the smallest gap left by a wrasse can jump.

If you can't fit a small HOB because of your lid, you can also try a small internal filter like a Sicce Shark, not as inexpensive or easily sourced as say an Aquaclear or Topfin but it may be better than jury-rigging the lid. Just a thought...

Luis Idk how much you're trying to lower it or exactly how your sump is setup, but I've had excellent success dropping p04 with phosbond in a media bag. I just dropped it in a high flow area and it has done the trick. I agree with all others that a hob is great if you can protect the wrasse.

Joel, do you remember when I asked everyone's advice on peppermint shrimp for aiptasia? I got the general concensus that they could cause damage to lps, which I do believe is possible. (I had already gotten the shrimp before I asked) But am I correct that you don't keep lps corals? I had a torch that would open for the first hour or two each day bc it was surrounded by aiptasia. Well today, I noticed the torch was wide open. I took a closer look and the aiptasia was gone. Not ALL of it, but the ones on the shrimp's cave side was gone. I may remove the shrimp and fight it with berghia next time, but for now, the shrimp is welcome

The shrimp wouldn't last with his Trigger I assume.

Hmmm, good point. I did have a cleaner shrimp in my trigger tank with 5 triggers in the past, but the shrimp was there first. Yep, that is definitely something to consider. Of course shrimp is a nutritious meal too!
