I was thinking so as well. It seems like the plating kind, it’s something I’m highly considering in my 100g as I love the layered look and ledges it provides.
They're definitely awesome. Give them lots of space because they do grow real big real fast!

just so you know, my tank is 30 inches deep and this coral covered about 24x30'' area

Before and after tank pic? Or did u remove the whole entire thing?
i removed entire thing, but in sections as i wasn't able to lift the whole thing at once, and if i did i would damage other coral colonies around
