Flood the market with $250 grails lol
Well, the first offer i got on the piece above was $250 for the whole piece.... im cautious to rebuttal with $800 as I dont want to be one of those "guys smoking crack" prices, but 200/head 4 heads all splitting, tons of flesh, is rational to which you agree. Appreciate your thoughts on the matter.

250 is a slap in the face offer and they either are a dbag or they are unaware of the market and what that piece is

Tell them 250 buys a regular green 2 head torch

Better yet give me a sec to pull up a pic

Agree on all fronts. Shane calls it a goldilocks, as far as i can tell its grail with whitish greenish tips, which is the defintion of a quality grade A master torch. Im not afraid to frag it, but at the same time im not opposed to moving some inventory to take new stock in and grow out.

We have alot of garage reefers with access to wholesale down here. So theres alot of maris moving in, not being adequately quarantined, dipped, cured and colored. Where it hurts most is torches. People either cant tell the difference between high ends, or think they should see wholesale pricing on retail quality pieces.

The other end is we have TSA, WWC, and even some decent sized garage farms asking over top dollar, and for some reason getting it. My aim is to eventually build and sell healthy coral at mid range prices and maintain a quality reputation. Some of this $500 half inch frag stuff is going to price people out of the hobby.
If it helps any I sell this one for 100-200$ a head depending on what kind of mood I’m in, how much I have at the moment, and how badly I want to clear them out. Not the greatest pics but has similar coloration to yours.

I look at it like whatever people pay it will cost as far as some. If people are pricednout they don't buy...but there's still a ton of low priced coral they can grab

The colors on goldi is legit bright AF with white tips, maybe slightly less bright. All that said im not afraid of 175/head, i just didnt want to be the crazy guy asking crazy money.

The other issue im having is getting enough light onto the nice stuff withiut stinging other stuff. Kind of why i want to entertain moving the whole piece.

Really don't understand how you all can check out so fast. I clicked that $6 the instant it showed up and before I got to payment it was gone. I'm on a computer with a gigabit connection and still am not quick enough. I actually already have an Old Glory so I don't care about the frag but would like to 'win' something and not feel defeated every time. Crazy!

His is that grail “neon green/neon yellow” color without purple.

Yours looks like a very very nice Indo gold/24k. Tbh one of the nicest ones I’ve seen. I see traces of purple but very minimal.

It’s not really equal price wise imo. If you charge 100-200 a head, he should be charging 250+ a head with discount for someone buying the whole colony. Saving him the hassle of fragging and finding multiple buyers

When you are in a good mood and have overstock and want to let a head of that gold go for 100$ hit me up. I’d buy one any day of the week at that price

Yeah im not arguong supply and demand, im looking at it from a perspective of, nice coral based out at minimum, being assessible, would bring alot more people into the hobby IMO and result in more sales for everyone.

If they think every acro they buy will die or theyre too hard to keep, because they either spend way too much for a booger, or dont understand that uncured maris may just melt because thats what they do, or even understand maris, then they go chasing around nonexistant issues in their tank, and then other stuff starts dieing... its just an unfortunate cycle that doesnt really benefit the hobby IMO. Maybe its not a valid take on it all, but its kind of where im arriving on the matter.

Only way I can figure it out is it was posted on the website, someone saw it and started checkout, as the post was being created. By the time it’s posted on the forum it’s already got a payment going through

My SBB 24k is on the left and SBB 99 banana single on the right, with a lion tamer in the middle. Tbh i think the 99banana is just a top tier 24k and lion tamer a bottom tier 24k.

Banana torches are typically yellow, not gold right?

Someone who thinks that coral colony is worth 250 is a noob and will likely kill it

If they want to buy mari and take the chance it will bleach or brown out then they can go do that all day long. If they have perfect conditions and husbandry then hey maybe they can make it into something nice.

You can’t compare wholesale mari torch to a tank raised grail or master
